The LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians put together a determined and competitive performance, battling through four quarters and overtime in a closely contested game. Despite the narrow 63–60 loss, the Lady Magicians showed heart and resilience, never allowing the game to get out of reach. This was a team effort powered by standout performances and relentless energy on both ends of the floor.
Coming off the bench and setting the tone was Marley Freeman, who was nothing short of electric. Freeman led all Lady Magicians with 16 points, attacking in transition, slashing to the rim, and applying nonstop defensive pressure. Her spark in the second half shifted momentum and gave the Magicians a crucial offensive edge when it mattered most.
In the starting lineup, Janara Williams delivered a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 15 points and 7 rebounds while logging heavy minutes. She fearlessly attacked the paint, finished through contact, and made her presence felt on the glass. Keria McGhee matched that scoring output with 15 points of her own, pairing sharp outside shooting with poised play-making. Her ability to stretch the floor and create opportunities fueled key runs late in the game.
The Magicians also won the hustle battle thanks to Antieya Brown and DeAsia Coffee. Brown controlled the boards with 8 rebounds and strong defensive work, while Coffee made her impact felt everywhere—dishing assists, battling inside, and coming up with timely buckets. Together, this core showed exactly what makes this team dangerous: balance, toughness, and belief.
