Box Score LOC Baseball 2-0 After Opening Day Victories.
The LOC baseball team is no 2-0 for the first time in over 3 seasons. The team picked up two convincing wins at home against Arkansas Baptist. These wins mark the first under the belt of first year Magicians head coach Brian Young.
With the team only winning 4 game over the course of the last two seasons, winning the first two is a huge accomplishment. Despite having nearly a brand new team the guys played with cohesiveness and played with chemistry that hasn't been seen by a Magicians baseball team in years.
In the first game the Magicians cruised two a 13-3 victory in which they dominated from start to finish. In the second game the Magicians played even better and defeated Arkansas Baptist 15-3. Newcomers Kevin Maya and Nathan Sanchez picked up the wins for the Magicians and will be key for the Magicians throughout the rest of the season. The 15 runs and 13 runs scored were the most by any Magicians team since the 2018-2019 season. Newcomer Ibrahim Marrero made a splash in his Magician debut tallying 4 hits 6 RBI and one home run in the 2 games vs Arkansas Baptist. The Magicians got contributions from several Magician players and had more than 7 different players with hits. " This team is going to be really fun to watch this season, I'm excited", said Magicians athletics director William Anderson.
