Magicians Split Road Series with Offensive Explosion at Harris Stowe

The LeMoyne-Owen baseball team returned to action on the road in St. Louis, Missouri for a non conference doubleheader against Harris Stowe University. The Magicians were tested across both games, falling just short in a tight 4 to 3 loss in the opener before responding with an explosive 16 to 14 victory in game two. The split showcased both the resilience and offensive firepower of LeMoyne-Owen as the team continues to develop momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

In game one, the Magicians found themselves in a competitive battle that was decided by small margins. LeMoyne-Owen finished with three runs on six hits and remained within striking distance throughout the contest. Ryan Meglis led the offensive effort with a strong 2 for 3 performance that included a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Sincere Lozano added a hit and a run while also swiping a base, continuing to provide energy at the top of the lineup. Seth Terrell contributed at the plate as well with a double, helping the Magicians generate scoring opportunities in key moments.

LeMoyne-Owen showed aggressiveness on the base paths, recording three stolen bases, but defensive miscues proved costly as the team committed four errors. On the mound, Terrell delivered a solid outing, pitching five innings and allowing three runs while keeping the game within reach. Kevin Maya followed in relief and limited damage late, but Harris Stowe capitalized on key opportunities to secure the narrow win.

The Magicians responded in a major way in game two, putting together one of their most complete offensive performances of the season in a 16 to 14 victory. LeMoyne-Owen erupted for 17 hits and scored in six different innings, showing depth and consistency throughout the lineup. The offensive surge began early and continued as the Magicians built a lead with a six run fourth inning and a four run fifth inning that proved to be pivotal.

Narrada Smith delivered an outstanding performance, going 4 for 5 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Meglis continued his strong day at the plate, finishing 3 for 6 with two runs scored and consistently putting himself in scoring position. Cedric Poellnitz II added three hits of his own, scoring twice and driving in a run while also contributing on the bases.

Seth Terrell provided one of the biggest swings of the game, going 2 for 6 with a home run and four RBIs, delivering a major impact in the middle of the lineup. Tahj Williams also came through in a key moment, hitting a home run and finishing with three RBIs. Michael Rivera added two hits and an RBI, while Kevin Maya reached base multiple times with a hit, two walks, and a run scored, contributing to the team's offensive rhythm.

Across both games, several Magicians stood out with strong combined performances. Ryan Meglis led the way, going 5 for 9 with a double, three runs scored, and an RBI, serving as a consistent presence in the lineup. Narrada Smith combined for five hits and two RBIs, while Cedric Poellnitz II added three hits and two runs scored. Seth Terrell contributed both on the mound and at the plate, finishing the day with a double, a home run, and four RBIs, showcasing his versatility. Tahj Williams added a home run and three RBIs in game two, highlighting the depth of the Magicians' offense.

LeMoyne-Owen demonstrated its ability to respond to adversity, bouncing back from a close loss with an offensive performance that emphasized both power and consistency. The Magicians showed patience at the plate, aggressive base running, and timely hitting, all of which contributed to their success in the second game.

The Magicians will now return home for an important conference series against arch rival Lane College on April 11 and 12. Games one and two are scheduled for April 11 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., followed by game three on April 12 at 12:00 p.m. With confidence building and momentum on their side, LeMoyne-Owen will look to carry this energy forward and make a strong statement against a familiar opponent.
