Box Score LeMoyne-Owen College men's volleyball is in high spirits after picking up its first win in program history.
The Magicians picked up the victory in a nail biting road match against Kentucky State. The match went the distance and the Magicians made big plays in the 5th set to give them the edge and the win. Prior to the 5th set, the Magicians won the first set 25-8 but would lose set two 25-27. The team make adjustments and respond to the set two loss with a convincing 25-14 win in the third set, seeming to have all the momentum. Kentucky State had different plans, and would narrowly defeat the Magicians 28-26 setting the stage for set five. Set five would ultimately be won 18-16 by the Magicians who feature high flying, hard hitting, outside hitter Alendy Sincoul. Sincoul finished the Match with 27 kills and 11 digs while leading the program to its first win. "I am honored to be the leader of this great group of young men", said Magicians head Coach Tyrell Jamison.
Coach Jamison is in his first season at the helm and is off to a 1-0 start in conference play. Jamison has cemented his name in the LeMoyne-Owen College record books as the 1st head coach in program history. He is also an assistant coach on the women's team.
The Magicians will return to action February 28th at home in a rematch against Kentucky State.
