Yesterday evening LeMoyne-Owen College proudly announced its plan to introduce a men's volleyball program, as its athletics department a received $75,000 grant from the First Point Volleyball Foundation.
The program set to commence in 2025, will further enhance the colleges robust athletics portfolio and position it as the seventh member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to offer this fast growing sport Women's volleyball is the latest sport to be formed at LOC after the school introduced track and field after a near 30 year hiatus
Other schools who have added men's volleyball include Kentucky State, Central State, FVSU, Morehouse, Benedict and Edward Watters University. Of all the teams in the conference Fort Valley currently has the best record, the team is currently 3-4 overall.
