The LOC men and women's cross country teams are striving for more this season.
The team opened it's season on the road at Lyon University, followed by a meet in Searse, Arkansas at Harding University. In the past there has been the narrative that cross-country at LeMoyne-Owen was strictly preparation for other sports. However since the emergence of Track and Field at the college, that narrative has changed.
"I think the first step to taking our program to the next level is taking everything serious, make no doubt about it we want to be competitive in cross-country", said head coach Terry Rhoades. Rhodes took over the program two seasons ago and is excited about the future of the program.
The Magicians still haven't experienced the type of success that they hope for but the results are starting to show. The team will return to action this Saturday September 21 in Memphis, at Rhodes College.
