Magicians Finish 14th In Rhodes College Invitational

The LOC men's cross country team completed their first meet under head coach Dr. Rochelle Stevens. The Rhodes College Invitational took place in Memphis, Tennessee, the meet included the Magicians and a list of other college teams from all over.

Exactly two weeks ago the Magicians participated in the Memphis City Auto Twilight meet. More than halfway through the meet lightning came ending the Magicians night early.

This time around a couple things would change, there would be no lightning and the race would be a little longer. Runners were required to run nearly five miles, which is just about two miles longer than the Magicians September 3rd competition.

Overall the team would finish 14th in the meet. Freshman Andrew Cullins made his cross country debut and was the first Magician to cross the finish line. Cullins would be followed across the finish line by fellow freshmen Xavier Haley, Gavin Hall-Huggins, Mateen Smith and Matthew Boston.

Despite their 14th place finish the team made improvements and will look to build on that progress in their upcoming meet September 23 rd at the Topper Trails Classic.
