LeMoyne Owen Magicans got out to a seven-run lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 9-7 victory over Rust College on Saturday. Rust College scored four runs in the failed comeback. Elliott, Mitchell, and Hatchett all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. LeMoyne Owen Magicans collected nine hits and Rust College had nine.Rust College took an early lead in the second inning. Strickland singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

LeMoyne Owen Magicans took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Taj Thompson tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Emari Mills singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Brown took the loss for Rust College. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one.
