The LOC Lady Magicians women's volleyball team went 0-3 in the SIAC Western Cluster this past weekend, and are now 2-16 on the season. The team currently stands in 8th place in the conference standings with just under twelve matches remaining.
The Lady Magicians went head to head with Fort Valley State, Albany State, and Savannah State. In all three matches the team was competitive but were unable to secure a a win, losing the first two matches 0-3. In the match versus Savannah State the Lady Magicians were able to win the second set before losing 1-3.The Lady Magicians are one of the youngest teams in the conference and have also one of the newest head coaches in the conference. Ma-Kayla Johnson knew that their would be some adjustments and that turning a program around wasn't something that would likely happen overnight. Despite going winless this past weekend the team made strides and have lots of things to build on heading into the final stretch of the season. The team will look to make a strong run towards the post season tournament which the team has missed for the last 5 seasons.
The Lady Magicians will return to action October 17th on the road versus rival Lane College. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm.
