Box Score The LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magician women's basketball team defeated Spring Hill College 67-57 on their way to their fourth win in five games, Monday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Lady Magicians who were 6-10 entering the ball game led the Lady Badgers by a narrow 32-31 margin at halftime.
The team jumped out to a 50-45 lead by the end of the 3
rd period and pulled away by outscoring SHC 17-12 in the final period.
The Lady Magicians are playing their basketball of the season, and are averaging more than 65 points per game in their last four ball games. The team is still struggling from long range but have found other ways to score and are getting quality minutes from a variety of different players. Senior
Takya Bennett poured in a season high 30 points while hauling in 11 rebounds on her way to a 30 point double-double.
Patrisha Lollis dominated the boards with 20 rebounds as the Magicians earned a 57-36 edge in rebounding.
The Lady Magicians will travel to Jackson, Tennessee this Saturday where they will play Lane College at 5:00pm.
