Box Score New Orleans, Louisiana- The LeMoyne-Owen Magicians finished their last exhibition win against Xavier of New Orleans on Saturday night.

LOC played in front of an energized crowd for Xavier's homecoming. The Magicians used their defense to close out a tight game against XULA. Jaquan Lawrence got off to a hot start in the first half with some big finishes in the paint. Tory Mason made some big plays on the boards and came up with some nice blocks. It was a slow start for Devin Booker, but he respond with some clutch threes in the second half. Kenneth Perkins picked up a couple of fouls that landed him on the bench in the first half. KP still showed off his talent in the game. He can score from deep, around the rim, from the line, and anywhere else he chooses. Preseason SIAC Ty Banks was the steady hand for the Magicians all game long. Banks showed his ability to score and facilitate the offense in this game. The Magicians lead by two at halftime. XULA would end up down twelve with a few minutes left to go. Xavier would cut the lead down to one but LOC would go on to win the game 85 to 84.

The Magicians will start the regular season and host the Delta State "Fighting Okra" at Bruce-Johnson Hall Saturday 4 pm November 16.
