Lady Magicians Spoil Dillards Homecoming

New Orleans, Louisiana---The Lady Magicians used a strong second and third quarter to beat the defending conference  GCAC champions, Dillard University Blue Devils. LeMoyne Owen was held to only five points after the first period. However, LOC held Dillard to only 11 points to finish the first quarter. The Lady Magicians responded with defense and toughness in the second quarter. Lamontazia Blair and Marshay Kellum sparked the team in the second quarter with a few steals that lead to points. LOC ended the half up by nine points, 30 to 21. LeMoyne Owen gained an eighteen point lead with a little less than four minutes left to go in the third quarter. Dillard would cut the lead down to three points with seconds left to go in the game. A huge defensive stop by Blair and a big free throw from Kellum iced the win for the Lady Magicians. LOC has gone 3-0 in exhibition games this season, which is the first time for Head Coach Antony Partee and the Lady Magicians.

Marshay Kellum: 17 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assisit, 3 steals

Glenda Garner: 5 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 


The Lady Magicians will start the regular season November 13 at 5:30 PM against CBU in Bruce - Johnson Hall.
