Magicians Dominate at Home with Doubleheader Sweep Over Maranatha Baptist

The LeMoyne-Owen baseball team delivered a statement performance at home, sweeping a non-conference doubleheader against Maranatha Baptist University with commanding victories of 26 to 0 and 13 to 3. The Magicians showcased explosive offense, aggressive base running, and dominant pitching across both contests, putting together one of their most complete days of the season.

Game one was a historic offensive display for LeMoyne-Owen, as the Magicians erupted for 26 runs on 19 hits in a run rule victory. From the opening inning, the Magicians set the tone by scoring four runs, followed by six in the second inning and an overwhelming 15 run third inning that completely broke the game open.

The offensive production was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup.     On the mound, Terrell delivered a dominant outing, pitching five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out eight batters. The pitching staff held Maranatha Baptist scoreless and limited them to just three total hits, completing a near flawless team performance.

Game two continued the momentum, although in a more controlled fashion. LeMoyne-Owen secured a 13 to 3 victory behind another strong offensive effort and solid pitching.

After falling behind early, the Magicians responded with a massive nine run fourth inning that shifted the game in their favor. They added three more runs in the fifth inning to secure the win and complete the sweep.
