The LeMoyne-Owen Magicians delivered a statement win Saturday night, grinding out a 69–64 SIAC victory over Lane inside a charged-up Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium. In a battle that demanded toughness and execution, the Magicians rose to the moment behind explosive scoring and timely playmaking.
LaDricus Pittman was the engine that powered the win, pouring in a game-high 25 points while burying five three-pointers and handing out six assists. Time and again, Pittman answered Lane runs with clutch shot-making, keeping the Magicians in control during key momentum swings. Inside, Marial Malek brought strength and stability, finishing with 11 points and five rebounds to anchor the paint and provide critical second-chance opportunities.
LeMoyne-Owen's depth proved to be the ultimate difference-maker. The Magicians' bench erupted for 29 points, highlighted by Joshua Whitehurst, who sparked the offense with 13 points and three timely triples that forced the Dragons to stretch their defense. Andre Walker II added 10 points and iced the game at the free-throw line in the final seconds, showing calm confidence when the pressure peaked.
Defense and discipline sealed the deal, as the Magicians turned Lane turnovers into 22 points, pushing the pace and capitalizing in transition. Shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc, LeMoyne-Owen controlled the tempo down the stretch and closed out a gritty, hard-earned SIAC win.
