Magicians Bounced In Round One Of SIAC Tournament

The LOC men's basketball season came to an end this week on the road at Morehouse College.

After a 4-23 regular season the Magicians earned a #7 seed in the SIAC men's basketball tournament. Drawing the number #7 seed meant the Magicians would have to travel to Atlanta to play Morehouse College on their home floor. The Magicians are 0-5 in their last five meetings with the Maroon Tigers. For about thirty-five minutes of the game the Magicians gave Morehouse everything they could handle. The two teams were tied dead even at 27-27 heading into the half, the Magicians seemed to have the Maroon Tigers exactly where they wanted them. For a majority of the second half the two teams would trade baskets and be on pace for a game that had the potential to go down to the very last second. With about five minutes left of play, the Maroon Tigers would take off and never look back. The Magicians would be outscored 14-4 in the final four minutes of play and would see Morehouse cruise to a 62-51 victory.

Sophomore guard Khalil Genwright was the lone Magician in double figures with 16 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assist. The 6'4 freshman led the Magicians in scoring for %70 of their games and finished as the teams leading scorer with 16.6 ppg, ranking Genwright 7th in the conference in scoring. The Magicians finished the season 4-24 overall.
