Magicians Pick Up Back To Back Wins On SIAC East Road Trip

The LeMoyne-Owen College men's basketball team picked up back to back wins this week with victories over Benedict and Allen College.

Prior to their most recent wins the Magicians had struggled to finish close games late. It seems that the team has quickly figured that out winning their last two games by a 1.5 point win margin. In each of the two games the team showed toughness and grit. They also had a variety of players make big plays down the stretch to secure wins for the Magicians

On Thursday the team defeated Benedict 50-47 in one of their lowest scoring but yet most impressive games of the season. The team was awesome on the defensive side of the ball holding Benedict to their lowest point total in the teams last five meetings. Junior guard LaDricus Pittman led the Magicians in scoring with 14 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 assist. Also in double figures for the Magicians was junior guard Kyle Houston who scored 12 points for the Magicians and connected 4 of his 10 three point attempts. As a team the Magicians shot  %32 percent from the field but held Benedict to just %30 percent from the field.

Two days later the Magicians would go head to head with Allen University who would give the Magicians everything they could handle. However they didn't have the Magic the Magicians had. For most of the night that  Magic came from Ladricus Pittman. Pittman followed his 14 point night against Benedict with 23 points 6 assist and 4 rebounds in route to a 68-66 road win. Pittman would get tons of help from back court mates Kyle Houston who scored 14 points and Desmond Bracther who added 12. The Magicians starting guards combined for 50 points, 8 assist , and 8 rebounds on the evening.

The Magicians are now winners in three of their last five games and are trending in the right direction. The team will return to action December 11th at Bruce-Johnson Hall vs Morehouse College. The team will be looking to secure their third straight win.
