Magicians Golf Gets Stronger With 2026 Class

LeMoyne-Owen College Men's Golf continues to build momentum with the addition of two international standouts — Joao "Lucky" Skolnik from Brazil and Ryan Broderick from Canada — as the program strengthens its roster for the upcoming season.

Joao "Lucky" Skolnik | Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil
Standing 6'2" and majoring in Business with a 3.6 GPA, Lucky brings a global background and a deep connection to the game. Having lived in Brazil until age 12, he grew up around the sport while his father worked at a resort course — the same course where Lucky developed his love for golf. After moving to the U.S., he embraced new challenges on and off the course, known for his community-driven mindset, discipline, and work ethic. With a career goal in Hotel Management, Lucky aims to blend his business acumen with his golf background, continuing his family's legacy in the golf and hospitality world. Now, he's eager to do that as part of the Magician family.

Ryan Broderick | Dundalk, Ontario, Canada
Ryan joins the Magicians from Ontario, where he balanced winters on the ice hockey rink and summers perfecting his golf game. A History major with a 3.93 GPA and a +0.2 handicap, Ryan began training at age 10 under the mentorship of Sam Young at Shelburne Golf & Country Club. His combination of athletic focus, academic excellence, and leadership mirrors what the LOC program stands for. Ryan looks forward to competing as a Magician and aims to inspire others through both the classroom and the course as a future high school teacher.

Head Coach Dominique Worthen praised both signings as "student-athletes who represent what we're building — global talent, strong academics, and a hunger to compete."

The future of LOC Golf is bright as the Magicians continue to welcome players who bring diverse experiences and a shared commitment to excellence.
