The LeMoyne-Owen men's golf team closed out its regular season in impressive fashion with a third place team finish at the Central State University Spring Tournament. The Magicians delivered one of their most complete performances of the year, highlighted by standout individual efforts and a strong push up the leader board during the final round.

Leading the way once again was freshman standout Albert Laursen, who turned in his best performance of the season. The Copenhagen native placed second overall with a total score of plus six, continuing to establish himself as one of the top young golfers in the conference. Laursen set the tone early by finishing day one as the overall leader with a score of minus one, holding a commanding six stroke advantage heading into the final round. While he was unable to maintain that lead on day two, his overall performance remained exceptional. Laursen led the entire field in total pars and was tied for the lowest score on par five holes at minus two, showcasing both consistency and efficiency throughout the tournament.

Senior Marvin Johnson also delivered a breakthrough performance, recording his first top ten finish of the season with a tenth place finish at plus twenty. Johnson faced adversity early, posting a score of plus sixteen on day one, but responded with one of the most impressive rounds of the tournament on day two. He fired a plus four, climbing significantly up the leader board and demonstrating resilience and composure. His round was highlighted by one of only two eagles recorded during the entire tournament, which came on the opening hole of day two and immediately set the tone for his turnaround.

The Magicians also received valuable contributions from the rest of their lineup. Jason Curry finished just outside the top ten in eleventh place, while Zion Hall secured a fourteenth place finish. Corey Hairston followed in sixteenth, and Carter Burgin rounded out the scoring group in eighteenth. The collective effort from the team allowed LeMoyne-Owen to remain competitive throughout the tournament and ultimately secure a podium finish.

This performance marks a strong conclusion to the regular season for the Magicians, who have continued to show growth and cohesion under pressure. The combination of Laursen's consistent excellence and Johnson's late surge reflects a team that is finding its rhythm at the right time.

LeMoyne-Owen will now turn its focus to the SIAC Championships, which will take place in Tunica, Mississippi from  April 19 through April 22. With momentum on their side and confidence building across the roster, the Magicians are poised to make a strong statement as they compete for a conference title.
