The LOC men's basketball team finished their preseason on high note with a 80-69 win on the road at Rust.

Junior guard Ladricus Pittman was firing on all cylinders, scoring 21 points on just nine shot attempts for the Magicians. The 5'9 inch scoring point guard shot %77 percent from the field, connecting on all three of his three point attempts and going 4-4 from the free throw line. Pittman led the team in scoring and was the lone Magician in double figures. As a team the Magicians shot 8/16 from the three point line and made 20 of their 25 free-throws. Although Pittman was the lone player in double figures, 5 other Magicians scored between 7-8 points.

The Magicians went 2-1 in preseason play with wins over Rust and Philander smith. The team averaged 74 points per game in their wins and just 58 points per game in their lone loss. The preseason gives teams a decent measuring stick of where they are and where they need to be. The team will be regular season play on November 14th on the road at Delta State. The game is scheduled for 7:00pm.
