In the first of their two game series this season Lane College defeated the Magicians 71-66 giving the Magicians their 6th consecutive loss. 

At the half Lane lead the Magicians 27-29 in a game where both teams struggling offensively with the Magicians shooting just just %29 percent from the field in field. The second half would be just as close, but this half it would be free-throws that would cost the Magicians. Down the stretch the team would see several crucial free-throws bounce off the rim.

The Magicians were led in scoring by back court mates Chris Peoples and Tariq Shepherd who scored 17 points each. Also in double-figures was senior forward Christian Wells who scored 16 points while shooting %50 from the 3pt line.

The two teams will play again February 17th at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
