The LeMoyne-Owen College men's basketball team had one of their best half's of the season last night at home against Kentucky State University. The Magicians led by as many as 16 points in the first half and defended at an extremely high level all night long. At Halftime the Magicians led 45-21 and had complete control of the game.
Although Kentucky State would make a second half run of their own the Magicians were still able to hold them off and cruise to a 81-69 win in front of the home crowd.
Christian Wells led the team in scoring with 23 points and grabbed 4 rebounds while sophomore
Austin Jordan scored a career high 17 points and connected on 5 three pointers. Also in double figures was junior guard
Tariq Shepherd who scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assist.
The two teams will meet again February 5th in Memphis at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
