The LeMoyne-Owen men's basketball team loss a nail biter last night at home versus Tougaloo College.
The Magicians are now 0-3 against Tougaloo in their last 3 meetings. In the last meeting they loss 71-65 in a game that went back and forth for much of the night.
At halftime the two teams were tied 36-36 after senior guard Andrew Anderson hit a runner from 17 feet as time expired. Anderson led the Magicians in scoring with 15 points on 6-11 shooting.
The game would come down to the last couple of seconds, the Bulldogs would have the ball with just under a minute to play in the ball game. Tougaloo would convert on a second chance three point basket just as the shot clock expired, giving them a 74–70 lead.
The Magicians would never recover from the four point deficit they faced and would go on to lose the ball game by a score of 76-70.
Along with Andrew Anderson in double-figures was Kaeden Lawary (14),Tariq Shepherd(11), Brandon Mason(11), and Gjerard Wilson(10).
Tougaloo College was led in scoring by Antonio Patterson and Trajan Fielder who both scored 17 points. The Bulldogs are now 16-1 on the season.
The Magicians are now 12-7 on the season and return to action Saturday, January 21st in a matchup with conference rival Lane College. The game is scheduled for 7:30pm at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
