The LeMoyne-Owen College women's volleyball team picked up their second win of the season last night, with a home win against Crowley Ridge College.
Nearly three weeks ago the two teams faced off at Crowley Ridge College, the Lady Magicians lost in four sets. "We we're just a little more locked in this time around, I'm extremely proud of how we played tonight", said head coach Reginald Morris.
Right from the start the Lady Magicians took control of the match, jumping out to an 11-6 lead. The Lady Magicians would go on to win the first set 25-20. In several matches this season, the team has won the first set and went on to lose the next three. In the second set the Lady Magicians would lose 25-19.
The next two sets the team would rally and put Crowley Ridge College away, winning 25-14, 25-18, defeating Crowley Ridge in four sets.
Freshman Lauren Canady had a career night, leading the Lady Magicians with 17 kills while sophomore setter Kaylyn Harris dished out 41 assists. Defensively,senior N'Kechinyere Egbe led the team with three blocks to go along with her 14 kills.
Kaylyn Harris, Kaylyn Howard, and Ashaqway McThomas combined for 58 digs on the night.
The Lady Magicians return to action Saturday on the road at Miles College. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm.
