Poor Shooting Bites Magicians In Final Exhibition Game

The LeMoyne-Owen Mens basketball team went head to head with Xavier University twice within a seven day span.

The two teams were apart of each other's homecoming exhibition games played October 30th in Memphis and November 5th in New Orleans.

In both games it was the home team that came away with the win. "I think both games were really good for our guys and helped us get a better idea of things we need to work on heading into the regular season", said Magicians head coach Bonzi Wells. 

The Magicians were defeated 60-71 in at the Xavier University (La) Convocation Center  in front of a crowd of roughly 1600 people. The Magicians got off to a slow start and trailed by as many as nine in the first half. The team would rally back cut the deficit to 35-36 at the half. 

In the second half the Magicians went cold scoring just 25 points and shooting 1-8 from the three point line. The team shot less than %45 percent for the game and was out rebounded 45-31.

The Magicians were led in scoring by Junior guard Gjerard Wilson who had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Magicians we're forwards Micah Evans and Kaeden Lawary who both chipped in with 11 points. 

The Magicians will take the court again Friday November 11th where they will host Delta State University at Bruce-Johnson Hall. LOC won last seasons match up 89-84.
