The LeMoyne-Owen College women's basketball team fell to Tuskegee University 78-54, dropping them to 6-10 on the season.
Tuskegee held a 10-2 record coming into the game and is one of the best teams in the conference this season, currently enjoying a five-game winning streak. The Lady Magicians were on a streak of their own enter this afternoons game, but just couldn't keep up with the Lady Golden Tigers.
Tuskegee jumped out to a 14-5 first quarter lead and never looked back, controlling the lead the entire forty minutes of play. Five Lady Golden Tigers scored in double-figures and were led in scoring by SIAC pre-season Defensive Player of the Year, JuToreya Willis who scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Lady Magicians shot %32 from the field, were just 2-19 from three-point range and struggled to find their groove all afternoon. Senior
Patrisha Lollis scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Takya Bennett also scored in double figures adding 13 points, shooting 5-8 from the field.
The Lady Magicians will travel to Mobile, Alabama where they will face Spring Hill College in the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The game is scheduled to be played at 5:30pm
