The LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians beat Kentucky State University 53-49, improving their record to 5-9 on the season and are now winners of their last two ball games.
This is the second time the this season the team has won two consecutive games and seem to be back on the right track after snapping a six game losing streak against Fort Valley State University.
The Lady Magicians didn't have their best game offensively but held Kentucky State to %35 from the field and %23 percent from long range. It also helped that they were able to get to the free-throw line where they shot 14-18 for the game. Senior forward
Takya Bennett led the team in scoring with 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while
Heaven Thompson added 12 points to go along with two rebounds.
The team is set to return to action Monday, January 17th at home against Central State University. The game is set to start at 5:30pm.
