LeMoyne-Owen men's basketball team defeated Rust College 81-57 Saturday night at Bruce-Johnson Hall. This latest victory gives the Magicians four wins in their last five games putting them at 4-2 on the season. A little over a month ago it was Rust, who defeated the Magicians 61-75 in an exhibition game at Rust College.
The teams defense has been outstanding these last few games and has only surrendered 62.5 points per contest since their 89-84 victory over Delta State November 18th. Not only did the team shine on defense Saturday night, they were also firing on all cylinders offensively, shooting %50 from the field, %50 from three point range, and %89 percent from the free-throw line.
Senior
Dwight Murray led all scorers with 23 points to go along with 6 rebounds.
Tariq Shepherd chipped in with 16 points while
Gjerard Wilson Scored 14. Also in double figures for the Magicians was sophomore guard
Jalen Fisher who added 12 points of his own.
Next up, the team will travel to Christian Brothers University December 7th. The Game is scheduled to start at 7:30pm.
