For the second time this season the LeMoyne-Owen College men's basketball team defeated Christian Brothers University. With this latest victory the Magicians have improved to 5-2 for the season, winning five of their last six games. The Magicians jumped out to a 22-12 lead in the ballgame and carried a 37-29 lead into halftime. Christian Brothers showed a lot of grit and toughness; every time it seemed like the lead was out of reach, they would go on a run, remaining hopeful they could recover. Although Christian Brothers made their runs, it simply wasn't enough to cool off the Magicians who shot a sizzling 58% from the field and connected on 22/26 free-throws.
Jaquan Lawrence led the team in scoring with 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the night, giving him his 2nd double-double for the season. Also in double figures for the Magicians was senior guard
Dwight Murray (15) and sophomore guard
Jalen Fisher (11).
The team will take the floor again Saturday, December 11th at Bruce-Johnson Hall, where they will host Allen University. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm
