Box Score Memphis, Tenn., -- The Magicians fell 68-63 against Paine College to move to 3-7 overall, and 0-5 in SIAC after battling from behind for most of the game. The Lions led by as much as 16 in the first half jumping out to a 24-8 lead with 12 minutes remaining. Refusing to go away, the Magicians mounted a come back in the second half cutting Paine's lead to three twice within the last 10 seconds of the game. However, the Lions would hold on closing the game out at the free throw line for the victory. LeMoyne shot 42% from the field (22-53) and 56% from the FT-line (14-25). Babe Murphy led Paine in scoring with 22 points, as did LOC's Rashawn Ellis. Aston Morton led the Magicians in rebounds with eight and finished with 14 points, while Anthony Green (8pts/2stl/2ast) and Demba Konate (4pts/2ast/2blk) each grabbed seven boards on the evening.
The Magicians return from the holiday break with back-to-back action in SIAC play to close out the year. LOC will face conference opponent Albany State University on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Bruce/Johnson Hall before following up with Fort Valley State University on Saturday, Dec. 30.
In Friday's match-up against the Golden Rams (0-12, 0-4 SIAC), both LOC and ASU look to secure their first conference victory of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
