Pittman’s 37 Point Masterclass Powers Magicians to Series Sweep Over Lane

LeMoyne Owen College delivered a statement victory in its rivalry matchup with Lane College, defeating the Dragons 77 to 61 to complete the season series sweep. The night belonged to LaDricus Pittman, whose electrifying performance propelled the Magicians to back to back conference wins and reinforced their late season momentum.

Pittman erupted for a game high 37 points while adding four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. It was one of his most efficient outings of the year. He shot 57.14 percent from the field and an exceptional 62.5 percent from beyond the arc, delivering timely baskets whenever the Magicians needed a lift. On a night when the team as a whole struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm, Pittman's scoring accounted for nearly half of LeMoyne Owen's total points. His shot making, poise, and command of the game proved vital in securing the road victory.

His dominance against Lane has been a season long theme. In the two game series, Pittman averaged 31 points, 3.5 rebounds, five assists, and two steals while posting remarkable shooting splits of 56.7 percent from the field, 52.63 percent from three point range, and 83.33 percent from the free throw line. His ability to consistently elevate his performance against a rival underscores both his competitiveness and leadership.

While Pittman headlined the win, several teammates made significant contributions. Gerrard Living delivered a powerful double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. He also recorded three steals, creating disruption on the defensive end and limiting Lane's ability to generate second chance opportunities. Living's physical presence in the paint anchored the Magicians on both ends of the floor.

Andre Walker II provided valuable support with a well rounded effort. He finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists, filling the stat sheet with impactful plays. Walker was responsible for 13 of the team's 15 bench points, offering scoring punch and stability whenever the rotation shifted. His ability to contribute in multiple areas ensured that the Magicians maintained control throughout the contest.

Although LeMoyne Owen did not experience its most efficient shooting night overall, the team's defensive intensity proved decisive. The Magicians limited Lane to just 11 assists and forced 19 turnovers, converting defensive stops into scoring opportunities. They held the Dragons to under 45 percent shooting from the field and below 25 percent from three point range. Consistent pressure, active hands, and disciplined rotations prevented Lane from establishing any sustained offensive rhythm.

The victory reflects the growing cohesion of LeMoyne-Owen College as the regular season winds down. Back to back conference wins signal that the Magicians are finding their stride at a critical point in the schedule. Leadership from Pittman, balanced contributions from the supporting cast, and a renewed defensive focus have positioned the team to finish strong.

LeMoyne Owen now turns its attention to its final regular season road contest against Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. The matchup is set for Monday, February 16 at 5:30 pm. With an opportunity to secure another series sweep and extend their winning streak to three games, the Magicians will look to carry the confidence from this commanding performance into their next challenge. Supporters are encouraged to tune in as the team continues its push toward a strong close to the season.
