The LeMoyne-Owen College women's volleyball team got their first taste of action this past weekend in the team's annual alumni game at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
The Lady Magicians defeated the stars of the past in four sets, in front of a rowdy crowd which featured a student section that will definitely come in handy during SIAC play this season. First year head coach Ma-Kayla Johnson made her first appearance in front of the LOC fan base and remains super optimistic about what this season will bring. The new look Lady Magicians will use this game to build momentum heading into the team's season opener later this week. "The energy in the building was awesome and we're all excited for volleyball season", said former Lady Magicians head coach Reginald Morris. Morris was in the building in support of the programs new leader Ma-Kayla Johnson.
The Lady Magicians will start the first of their four match road trip this Thursday at Oakwood College. The match is scheduled for 5:00pm.
