Kimberly Anderson Named Lady Magicians Head Women’s Basketball

Former Mississippi Valley State women's basketball coach Kimberly Anderson has been named the next leader of the LeMoyne-Owen College women's basketball program.

With a strong background in collegiate and high school athletics, Anderson will look to leverage her coaching career and her experiences as the foundation to bringing a championship to LOC. She is best described by her peers as someone who is dedicated to her faith, family, fitness, and basketball. Anderson's career has spanned the Southeast as a player and a coach for the past 20 years.

Prior to accepting the position at LeMoyne-Owen, Anderson was the head coach at MVSU and Lane College. She spent seven seasons at Lane and led the Lady Dragons to the 2018-2019 NCAA D-II tournament, for the first time ever. "Were extremely excited to have Kimberly, she is proven in the SIAC and knows what it takes to be successful here", said LOC athletics director William Anderson. Prior to her tenure at Lane, Anderson led the Concordia Lady Hornets program to a National title as head coach in 2009. Under her leadership, the Lady Hornets consistently demonstrated excellence from 2009 to 2012, solidifying her reputation as a skilled and results-driven coach.

Anderson has built a reputation of shaping and empowering programs that promote women's excellence and foster a culture that prioritizes the development of successful young women. Her passion for assisting young women extends beyond the athletic arena, as she demonstrates her commitment to contributing positively to the community.

The Lady Magicians, who finished 11-21 last season and were one win away from advancing to the SIAC Championship game, will begin pre-season play this fall looking to make another deep run in the SIAC tournament.
