The LeMoyne-Owen College women's basketball team is one game away from the SIAC women's basketball championship game.
The Lady Magicians defeated Lane College 63-61 in a classic LOC vs Lane match-up. Coming into the game Lane had won the last 3 contest vs LOC head coach Partee and the women's basketball team. However, the Magicians came into the game riding a two game win streak and all the confidence in the world after knocking off #2 seed Allen University. From the opening tip LOC and Lane would go back and forth trading baskets. When the fourth quarter started the Lady Magicians trailed 43-41. The fourth quarter would come down to the final seconds as forward Antieya Brown would connect on a layup with 0.5 seconds left. The Magicians defense would hold up securing the upset win and advancing the team one game closer to the championship. Senior guard Kennedy Fuller led the Lady Magicians with 22 points while forward Janara Williams scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
The Lady Magicians will return to action tomorrow at 11:00am where they will go head to head with Miles College for a chance to play for the SIAC Championship.
