For The second time this season the LOC men's basketball team has loss at the hands of Kentucky State University. This latest win gives KSU a 3-0 record vs the Magicians in the last three games. Every time the two teams it seems like the game goes down to the wire.
In the first half it was all KSU who took a 48-40 lead into halftime. The Magicians opened the second half with an 11-2 run, surging ahead 51-50 with 11:30 left to play.
KSU guard Lavar Miller helped Kentucky State regain control, scoring five points during a 7-2 run capped by a pull-up jumper from Blackwell, putting the Thorobreds up 63-59 with six minutes remaining. The Magicians would never regain the lead and would fall 77-71 in front of the home crowd at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
Sophomore guard
Khalil Genwright led the Magicians attack with 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Genwright is currently the Magicians leading scorer. Also in double figures for the Magicians was senior forward
Richard Lowe who scored 13 points and 13 rebounds while guard
Austin Jordan added 11 points to go along with 4 assist .
The Magicians will retun to action this weekend at home vs Lane College. The game is scheduled for a 5:30pm start time.
