The LOC women's basketball team is now 1-1 in pre-season play after their most recent win on the road at Dillard University. 

Despite nearly doubling their first half scoring total from last game, the Lady Magicians still trailed 38-35 at half time. In the third quarter Dillard would come out hot and increase their three point lead to  57-49 entering the fourth quarter. 

In the fourth and final quarter it would be all LOC. The new look Lady Magicians showed poise and grit, and went on a 18-5 run to finish the game and secure a 67-62 victory. "I'm so proud of our women, they fought all night long and it paid off", said LOC head coach Kimberly Anderson.  When things got tough the Lady Magicians got going. Four different players scored double-figures for the team, including  12 points each form Marley Freeman, Antieya Brown, and Janara Williams.  Newcomer Shamari Hamlett finished the game with 10 points to go along with five assists. Hamlett wasn't the only player dishing out assist, Marley Freeman led the team with 7 assist, flirting with a triple double scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds to go along with the assist. Front court mates Janara Williams and Antieya Brown controlled the paint combining for 24 points and 18 rebounds. 

The Lady Magicians will finish up pre-season play November 8th on the road at Rust College. The game is scheduled for 1:00pm
