The LOC men's basketball team is currently playing one of their toughest stretches of the season with 5 consecutive road games. In that stretch the Magicians are just 1-4 with losses to Lane, Miles Central State and now Kentucky State.
The Thoroughbreds took a 40-36 lead into half time in a game that wouldn't be decided to the closing seconds. The two SIAC west teams went back and forth all night but it would be KSU that would come out on top in a 72-69 win bringing them to 10-7 on the season. The Magicians are now 3-17 but have been in more than 10 games that were decided by one to five points. Despite their record the Magicians have taken almost every team in the conference down to the wire.
Sophomore forward
Khalil Genwright led the Magicians in scoring against for the4th consecutive game and has scored 20 Orr more in 5 of his last 18 games. Genwright picked up his first career double-double scoring 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the Magicians. Senior forward
Philpps Joseph also picked up a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while newcomer
Evan Burton added ten points for the Magicians.
The Magicians will return to action this weekend on the road vs rival Rust College. The game will be played Saturday at 7:30pm.
