In the opening round of the SIAC tournament the LOC men's basketball team defeated Fort Valley State 86-78.

The two teams met earlier in the season at. Bruce-Johnson Hall where the Magicians won handily. Indy both games the Magicians would enjoy double-digit leads for most of the game. 

Junior guards Tariq Shepherd and Chris Peoples lead the Magicians in scoring with 21 and 16 points. Austin Jordan, Christian Wells and Matthew Spears also scored in double-figures.

In the second round, the Magicians would face juggernaut Benedict College in a rematch of last seasons quarterfinal where Benedict defeated LOC on a last second shot. 

Early in the first half the two teams went back and forth and the Magicians trailed by just 5 points at halftime. With 6 minutes in the ball game the Magicians would find themselves down just one point. Over the course of the next 6 minutes Benedict would go on a run that the Magicians would never recover from. Benedict would win the ball game 90-76. 

Senior forward Christian Wells led the Magicians attack with 25 points and 5 rebounds in his last time in a Magicians Uniform.  Micah Evans, Austin Jordan and Tariq Shepherd also scored in double figures for the Magicians.
