The LOC women's track and field team was finally able to showcase their talents here in the city of Memphis at the Rhodes College Invitational.
The team has taken a one day at a time approach since the hire of new head coach Terry Rhodes who took over the program late last year after the resignation of former head coach Rochelle Stevens.
The women's team had athletes participate in the 400 meter relay, 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash, 100 meter dash, long jump and in the discus throw. In the 400 meter relay the Lady Magicians which included Malaisha Johnson, Kike Ojo, Patrina Rogers and Ajeceia Presswood finished 2nd behind Rhodes College. Presswood nearly won the 100 meter dash but was edged out by Olivia Freeman of Rhodes College.
The Lady Magicians who's roster is predominantly made up of freshmen seem to be headed in the right direction and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
