The LOC Men's track and field team took their talents on the road this past week an competed in the CAU Panther Invitational.
This is the first time that LOC track has had a team in over more than 30 years. The Magicians are truly building the program brick by brick.
Junior runner Mekai Ray starred for the Magicians in the 100 meter event getting across the finish line in 11.74 seconds. That was good enough for a top 30 finish. Nearly ten seconds later freshman Mateen Smith would scoot across the finish line at 35th place.
Freshman David Wright also had a good showing for the Magicians in the 400 meter run finishing at 57.26, which was good enough for a 28th place finish. Wright also competed in the 110 hurdles and finished 12th overall.
The Magicians will get back to work this week at practice and will compete again March 24th at the Rhodes College Invitational here in Memphis, Tennessee.
