The LOC women's basketball team defeated Kentucky State University 55-53 in the second of the teams two meetings of the season.
In the first meeting the Lady Magicians were defeated 73-51. This time around the Lady Magicians were more efficient on both ends of the floor. Early on the Lady Magicians trailed 23-14 and would face a seven point deficit heading into half-time.
In the second half it was All LOC. In the final two quarters the teams defense gave up just 18 points. They outscored the Lady Thoroughbreds 27-18.
Sophomore Kamryn Knight led team in scoring with 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Lady Magicians was senior guard Jess Myers. Myers also scored 14 points.
Next up, the team will host Spring Hill College on Saturday, February 6th at Bruce-Johnson Hall. The game is scheduled for 5:30pm.
