For the first several minutes of Thursday nights game vs The University of Memphis the Magicians seemed to be right where they wanted to be and jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
Coming into the game the Magicians new that they would need to handle the pressure of the Memphis Tigers and be able to make shots. It's safe to say they handled the pressure of the Tigers, however they didn't capitalize on the quality looks they got and shot just %30from the field. "We felt like we got all the shots we wanted, just couldn't get them to go down", said Junior forward Micah Evans.
The Magicians trailed 41-26 at halftime and would cut the lead to as low as 13 points before they would feel the second half wrath of the Penny Hardaway led Memphis Tigers. The Magicians were outscore 63-37 in the second half and would eventually lose the game 104-63. Despite the final score of the game the Magicians forced Memphis into 19 turnovers and attempted more shots at the basket than the Tigers.
Sophomore forward Matt Spears led the Magicians in scoring with 12 points while junior guard Tariq Shepherd added 10 points. The Magicians
The Magicians will return to action Tuesday November 7th on the road at Talladega College. The game is scheduled to start at 6:00pm
