For the second consecutive season the LOC men's basketball team lost to Miles at home in the final seconds of the game.
The Magicians trailed nearly the whole game and fought til the end to get back in the ball game. Miles took a 39-26 lead into the half after dominating the first half of play.
The Magicians would make runs throughout the second half to get the lead down to single digits, but could never quite get over the hump.
With about five minutes left to play on the ball game the Magicians would finally get the lead to under six points, forcing Miles to call timeout.
With just 6 seconds to play the Magicians trailed by two points and need one stop to give themeselves a chance to win at the buzzer. As Miles went to inbound LOC would get a still with a second remaining one on the shot clock.
Sophomore guard Tariq Shepherd would pick up the ball and go coast to coast shooting a runner that bounced off the rim. As time expired, Kaeden Lawary would get a rebound that would be blocked by Miles center Anthony Larry, giving Miles their third consecutive win over the Magicians, dating back to last season.
Sophomore forward Micah Evans led the Magicians in scoring with 14 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assist. Also in double figures for the Magicians we're guard Andrew Anderson, and Brandon Mason.
The Magicians will take the court again January 14th on the road at Tuskegee University. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00pm.
