For the first time in over forty years LeMoyne-Owen College will have men's and women's track and field. Nearly a year a goal the school hired Olympic Gold Medalist Rochelle Stevens to be the schools head Track & Field Coach.
Starting a program from scratch would be hard for anyone, let alone a coach with zero experience coaching at the colligete. Dr. Rochelle Stevens had made the task look easy thus far. Stevens has had the task of hiring a coaching staff, putting together a schedule and convincing student athletes to come play for a program in its first year.
Stevens has signed a total of 30 athletes to join the men's and women's track team. That number could rise to forty by the time the seasons begins.
