For the first time in over forty years LeMoyne-Owen College will have men's and women's track & field. Nearly a year ago the school hired Olympic Gold Medalist Rochelle Stevens to be the schools head track & field Coach. 

Starting a program from scratch would be hard for anyone, let alone a coach with zero experience coaching at the colligate. Dr. Rochelle Stevens had made the task look easy thus far.  Stevens has had the task of hiring a coaching staff, putting together a schedule and convincing student athletes to come play for a program in its first year. Not only is Dr. Stevens the track and field coach, she is also the head coach for men and women's cross country.

Stevens has signed a total of  thirty student athletes and could see that number rise to forty come the start of the  season. Several of these athletes will also represent the men's and women's cross country teams as well.
