Men And Women’s Tennis Defeat Rust College

The LeMoyne-Owen College men & women's tennis team  hosted the Magicians invitational April 14th here in Memphis, Tennessee. The two teams have struggled this season and have a combined 6-20 record. Earlier this year they competed in two SIAC Round Up tournaments where they finished towards the bottom of the pack both times.

Despite the teams record they have continued to compete at a high level and have made strides each week. Both rosters have been undermanned and inexperienced so patience has been key. "For a lot of them this there first time competing at a high level and we've asked a lot of them" said first year head coach Kedzie White

Lane College wasn't able to make the invitational so the Magicians squared off with Rust College for a double header. The women's team defeated Rust 7-0 in the first match and followed up with a 6-1 to close their season 3-10, with a little momentum heading in to next season.

On the men's side, the Magicians took care of business as well defeating Rust College in back to back games by the score of 6-1. Wins were hard to come by for the Magicians this season who finish their season 3-10. "I am very proud of how these  guys battled and showed perseverance throughout the season, we're are looking forward to bigger and better things", said Kedzie White.
