Exactly two weeks ago the LeMoyne-Owen College women's basketball team faced off with Fisk University.
The Lady Magicians would lose 54-64 in overtime on the road." That was one of those games that we felt like we should have won, we didn't convert down the stretch",said head coach Antony Partee.
Wednesday evening at Bruce-Johnson Hall the Lady Magicians would have their chance at revenge. The team got off to better start this game and took a 26-23 lead into half time. The two teams went back in forth the whole contest, in a game that consisted of 3 ties and 10 lead changes.
The Lady Magicians scored their highest point total of the season and also shot 43% from the field which is a season high. This was also the first time this season the team had more than two players in double figures.
For the second straight game Kamryn Knight picked up a double-double finishing the game with 12 points, to go along with 10 rebounds. Knight is averaging 11 points and 11 rebounds shooting nearly %60 from the field.
The Lady Magicians have developed a good inside out presence these last few games and that showed tonight. Backcourt mates
Sierra Lynch (16)and
Jess Myers (12) both scored in double figures combining for 28 points on 10-20 shooting. Lynch made a free-throw with 10 seconds left to secure a 60-56 Magicians win.
Next up, the team will travel to Fort Valley State University for their December 3rd matchup. The game will begin at 1pm
